Using this website
This website is operated for Kora Africa Media Academy (KAMA). It provides information about KAMA, its proposed and available programmes, applications, partnerships and contact channels.
You may browse the public pages and submit a genuine application or enquiry. You must provide information that is accurate to the best of your knowledge and must not impersonate another person or organisation.
Website content is general information. Programme dates, venues, delivery formats, facilitators, entry requirements, fees, bursaries and certification status are final only when KAMA confirms them in writing for a specific cohort.
Applications and enrolment
Submitting an application confirms your interest; it does not guarantee shortlisting, admission, a bursary or a place in a programme. KAMA may assess applications against programme capacity, readiness, eligibility and cohort needs.
If you are offered a place, KAMA will provide the important programme terms before you enrol. Your place becomes final only after you meet those requirements and accept any applicable enrolment terms.
Applicants under 18 must involve a parent or legal guardian before submitting their personal information. The guardian must complete the required consent and enrolment steps before participation.
Use your own Kora Stream Africa account for applications and the student portal. Keep your password private, provide accurate details and notify KAMA if your account or contact details are compromised or change.
Fees, payment and refunds
There is no application fee. Any programme advertised and confirmed as free has no tuition fee for that intake. Any items or personal expenses not covered, such as transport, must be clearly disclosed before enrolment. A free place does not guarantee payment, a stipend or reimbursement.
This website does not currently accept programme payments. Where a programme has a fee, KAMA will disclose the amount, payment schedule, included items, cancellation process and refund terms before the applicant enrols or pays.
Do not send payment details through an application, partnership or contact message. Payments should be made only through a method formally confirmed by KAMA.
Nothing in these Terms and Conditions removes rights or remedies that cannot lawfully be limited under applicable consumer law.
Availability for practical sessions
Students must be available for scheduled practical sessions and complete the required practical work. Before accepting a place, confirm that you can attend the stated venue, dates and times. KAMA will confirm these arrangements for the cohort before enrolment.
Online sign-in or theory participation alone does not replace required practical attendance. If you cannot attend or an emergency arises, notify the facilitator and students@koraafricamediaacademy.com as soon as possible. Catch-up sessions or alternative arrangements require approval and depend on safe delivery and available resources.
Missed compulsory practical work must be completed through an approved arrangement before a completion certificate can be issued. Contact KAMA about accessibility or reasonable accommodation needs before the activity so that suitable arrangements can be discussed.
Assessment, completion and certificates
KAMA will communicate attendance, practical tasks, assessment criteria, deadlines and completion requirements for each programme before enrolment. Students must submit their own work, credit outside sources and complete the stated requirements. No universal attendance percentage is implied by these terms.
A certificate is issued only when the relevant programme requirements have been met. A KAMA completion certificate does not by itself represent an accredited qualification, NQF credit or professional registration. Any formal accreditation or recognition must be expressly confirmed for that programme.
You may request correction of an attendance or results record and ask for a review of an assessment decision through student support.
Learner conduct and safety
Programme participants will be expected to treat other learners, facilitators, crew, performers, communities, locations and equipment with respect. Harassment, discrimination, unsafe conduct, unlawful activity and deliberate damage are not acceptable.
Read the Academy Rules for attendance, practical availability, safety, respectful conduct, equipment use and complaints. Programme-specific instructions may add relevant requirements communicated before participation.
Detailed participation, safeguarding, production and disciplinary rules may be issued for a specific programme. Serious or repeated breaches may lead to removal from an activity or programme, following an appropriate process and subject to the applicable enrolment terms.
Intellectual property
KAMA and its licensors own or are authorised to use the website’s branding, logo, copy, graphics, course descriptions and other site content. You may view and share links to public pages for personal, informational purposes. You may not copy, sell, alter or commercially exploit the site’s content or branding without written permission.
Learners retain rights in their original creative work unless a separate written agreement clearly provides otherwise. Participation alone does not transfer a learner’s copyright to KAMA.
Any permission for KAMA, Kora Originals, Kora Stream Africa, a partner or another party to record, showcase, produce, license or distribute a learner’s work or likeness will be addressed separately, with the scope and relevant terms stated in writing.
Opportunities, partners and third parties
KAMA aims to connect learning with mentorship, portfolio development and industry pathways. However, applying to or completing a programme does not guarantee employment, representation, funding, accreditation, production, broadcast, publication or distribution.
Opportunities may have separate criteria and agreements. References to an institution or potential partner do not mean that a formal partnership, accreditation or endorsement exists unless KAMA expressly confirms it.
This site may link to portfolios or third-party websites. Those services operate under their own terms and privacy practices, and KAMA is not responsible for their content or availability.
Acceptable use
You must not use this website to:
- submit unlawful, threatening, abusive, discriminatory, deceptive or infringing material;
- upload malicious code, probe security, interfere with the website or attempt unauthorised access;
- send spam, automated submissions or false applications;
- collect information about other users without authority; or
- misrepresent an affiliation with KAMA or use KAMA’s name or branding without permission.
KAMA may block abusive activity, remove unlawful material and preserve or disclose relevant records where permitted or required by law.
Availability, accuracy and liability
We aim to keep the website accurate, secure and available, but errors, interruptions or outdated information may occur. KAMA may correct or update site content and may suspend parts of the site for maintenance or security.
To the extent permitted by law, KAMA is not responsible for indirect or consequential loss caused solely by reliance on general website information, a third-party service, or temporary unavailability. This does not exclude or limit liability where doing so would be unlawful, including liability arising from gross negligence or intentional misconduct where applicable.
Where a programme is postponed or materially changed, KAMA will notify affected learners and explain available arrangements. Changes to a confirmed paid programme remain subject to its agreed terms and applicable consumer rights.
If you notice an error or security concern, please contact KAMA.
Complaints and review
For student, practical attendance or assessment concerns, contact students@koraafricamediaacademy.com. For a conduct complaint, safeguarding concern or escalation, contact info@koraafricamediaacademy.com. Include your reference or student number, the issue, relevant dates and the outcome you are seeking.
KAMA will consider the information, allow affected people a reasonable opportunity to respond and communicate the outcome. Where possible, a review should be handled by someone not directly involved in the original decision. You may ask for reasons and a review; making a good-faith complaint must not result in retaliation.
This process does not prevent you from contacting the Information Regulator, a relevant authority, emergency services or a court where appropriate.
Privacy, governing law and contact
Our Privacy Policy explains how personal information submitted through this website is handled.
These Terms and Conditions are governed by the laws of the Republic of South Africa. Any dispute will be handled by a court or other forum with lawful jurisdiction, subject to any rights that applicable law gives you.
We may update these terms when the website, KAMA’s services or applicable requirements change. Updated terms apply from the date shown above; material changes will not rewrite an agreement already accepted for a specific programme.
Questions about these terms can be emailed to info@koraafricamediaacademy.com or sent through the KAMA contact form.
